SUBLIME SYNAESTHESIA 03
In the Animalia project, we take a closer look at how the mountain area has changed throughout history, how we make use of these areas now, and how they might appear in the future. On a floating circular screen we present a digital animation based on a behaviour simulation that follows rules of attraction, separation, and alignment. The video work is inspired by human observations and reflects both learned and instinctive collective behaviour in nature. The viewer is invited to kick back in one of the deckchairs directly underneath the screen, and fully immerse in the animation.
At Eker Gård we also exhibited a second video on a screen we built the year before as part of an artist residency, The Rock. The video is composed of our own footage and is showing mountain landscapes seen from perspectives based on different human movement patterns.
The soundscape is dark yet atmospheric, based on our own recordings.
Exhibited at Skur2, Nyhavna – Trondheim as part of the group exhibition Kunst Hjerte and Eker Gård 2025
