SUBLIME SYNAESTHESIA

@BEK

Sublime Synaesthesia explores the thresholds between the natural, the digital, and the transient. Using new technologies, the project examines our relationship to the sublime in nature and uncovers lesser-known narratives that challenge the prevailing anthropocentric view of the natural world as a lifeless resource awaiting exploitation.

Trude Bekk and Tom Teulon participated in BEK´s studio residency program in May 2022, where time was spent conducting field research in the wider Bergen area and experimenting with new methods of presenting digital works in BEKs project space.

During the residency we worked in the electronics lab and project space, experimenting with room-scale interactive video-mapping for the ongoing project Sublime Synaesthesia 01, using object tracking, contact microphones, and live data input.

Medium: Interaktiv Video Mapping, object tracking, audio/touch input, live data input, sound, light, nature objects
